Accounts Xpress is a decent program that gives you a very detailed description of your accounts—this is our favorite feature.  But, in terms of other discernable features, this program falls short compared to its beefier competitors. This doesn't mean you should stay away from this product though.  Any product is worth a look because you don't know if it's going to suit your needs until you try it.

This program doesn't offer a setup wizard to help you initially input your financial information. This is a real downfall for people who are not familiar with finance software.  Assuming the expertise of your users is a treacherous thing because you don't know who's a beginner and who has been using personal finance software for years.  For those who have some expertise, this program will be right up your alley.  It might not have all the features of its counterparts, but it offers some things that will strike your fancy.

After going through a rather difficult process of inputting all of your financial information, Accounts Xpress presents you with a circulation summary, list of transactions, list of sub-accounts, balance transition and monthly circulation.  As you can see, once you get past the challenges of entering your date, you're going to have

You can easily see a grand total of all of your accounts with just the click of your mouse.

Another outstanding feature Accounts Xpress offers is the ability to create separate accounts in the budgeting section. You can create an account for your car payment, bank charges and anything else that costs money—up to 20 different items.

Accounts Xpress doesn't offer anything along the lines of financial planning, investing, managing stocks, retirement options or tax filing.

Summary:

The bottom line—the average person is going to want personal finance software that offers more features to help them with their finances; Accounts Xpress will take care of some of your basic financial needs but for $39.95 we would expect a much better product.
